Exploiting the notion that the economic crisis is a condition that can encourage creativity and inventiveness kicked off in April the VII Triennale Design that deals with the issue of self-production with a particular focus on three periods : the Thirties , the sixties and the Noughties .
A selection of more than 650 works by autors as Fortunato Depero , Bice Lazzari , Fausto Melotti , Carlo Mollino , Franco Albini, Gio Ponti , Antonia Campi , Renata Bonfanti , Salvatore Ferragamo, Piero Fornasetti , Bruno Munari , Alessandro Mendini, Gaetano Pesce , Ettore Sottsass , Enzo Mari, Andrea Branzi, Ugo La Pietra , Martino Gamper , Formafantasma , Nucleus, Lorenzo Damiani , Paolo Ulian , Massimiliano Adami .
The theme of the exhibition is taken for the construction project for which they were chosen materials that refer to the work of artisans and self-production .
If as stated by Paul Auster ” The moments of crisis doubled the vitality of men,” this exhibition is not only a review of the authoritative works of the past, but also a forward-looking perspective of what might be the future if we are able to meet the challenge and take advantage of a period so bad for Italian handicrafts .
